Inline Skates & Roller Blades Guide

Inline skates (AKA Roller Blades) have to be the most versatile discipline on wheels. The freedom that inline skates offer human beings is something that everyone should experience. Thankfully, we offer all types of inlines, which can be used for:

  • Commuting to and from work, or city skating - urban skates
  • Fitness and weight loss - fitness skates
  • Leisure or recreational skating - recreational skates
  • Jumping & grinding - aggressive skates
  • Speed skating - speed skates
  • Long distance - 3 wheel skates
  • Even explore the wilderness and go off-road - SUV skates

Here, we will talk about general skating, which consists of commuting, cruising, recreational, or fitness skating. Below is a break down of the different boot types to help you find the best set up for your style or preference of skating.

Fitness/Recreational - Softboot Skates

Great for skating along the esplanade or in the park, these skates are typically made from a soft upper boot, which makes them very comfortable and offers better breathability. They are lightweight, and come with an integrated liner. Offer greater flexiblity and generally come in an abundant selection of styles and colours.

Use softboot skates for recreational skating, cardio workouts, or even transportation. See 3 wheel skates for long distance skating.

Freestyle/Urban - Hardboot Skates

Freestyle or urban skates are usually constructed with a hard boot upper. This offers substantially more support, plus gives you the option to remove and change the internal liner. Hardboot skates offer more durability, enhanced protection, and allow for greater customisability to the skates components.

Use hardboot skates for freeride, freestyle skating, sliding, jumping, hitting gaps, or city cruising.

3 Wheel Skates - Hard or Soft Boot

Three wheel inline skates are a great option for skaters wanting to skate over longer distances, or in wider, open locations. The bigger wheels means you don't have to work as hard and will keep you rolling for longer on each push. Three wheel skates can come in soft or hardboot options depending on your preference and style of skating.

Childrens/Kids Inline Skates

Childrens inline skates or roller blades come in a variety or options from softboot to hardboot, but almost always come in an adjustable format. This allows your child to grow with the skates by simply adjusting the length of the toe box as the foot grows. We offer a wide variety of colour options and styles, find a skate that suits the personality of you little shredder, as long as the size suits their growing feet.
