Adjustable Bar Mini Scooters for Growing Riders

Learning to ride a scooter is an exciting milestone, and the right first scooter can make those early rides feel much more comfortable. Our mini scooter collection gives young beginners a fun, stable way to build coordination and confidence, whether they are rolling around the driveway or heading to the local park.

Three-wheel scooters are created for toddlers who are still developing their balance. Children can then move to a mini two-wheel scooter at around 3-4 years old, depending on their height, competence, and centre of balance. As their confidence grows, they can progress towards the natural feel of a standard bar from our wider collection of scooters for kids.

Choosing the Right Scooter for Your Child

Age provides a useful starting point, but every child develops at a different pace. Their height, balance, and confidence will give you a better idea of which scooter feels right.

  • Starting with three wheels: Three-wheel scooters give toddlers and children up to around four years old a steadier first ride. Our Roller Derby Sport, or RDS, models add colourful light-up wheels that make them especially popular with younger riders.
  • More toddler choices coming soon: Globber three-wheel scooters will soon join the range, bringing more colours and styles for parents and children to choose from.
  • Moving to two wheels: Mini two-wheel scooters generally suit children aged three to four who are becoming more confident with their balance. Since every rider progresses differently, the best fit will depend on their height and current ability.
  • Choosing a smaller fixed-bar model: The Slamm Classic Mini Pro is available now, with a fixed, non-adjustable bar made for smaller riders. Rage Mini scooters are due to arrive at the end of October, providing another option for children making the move to two wheels.
  • Taking the next step: Once a child feels comfortable balancing on two wheels, the Rage Grom Scooter offers a natural move towards a regular scooter setup.

Above all, the scooter should feel comfortable and easy to control. Once you have found the right fit, let your child choose a colour they will be excited to ride.

Complete the Setup with Essential Gear

Get your child ready to ride by adding a properly fitted helmet and pads to their new scooter. At around $50, a Wipeout pad set provides wrist, knee, and elbow protection in one affordable package. Finish the essentials with a Triple 8 helmet that fits comfortably and securely.

Looking for age-specific padding? 187 Six Packs are available in Pre-K sizing for children aged three to five and Junior sizing for riders aged five and older. For a budget-friendly helmet option, Wipeout helmets come in three sizes suited to riders aged three and older, five and older, and eight and older.

Choose their scooter, add the right protective gear, and send them out ready to enjoy every ride.
